Momo-la is the grandmother of the nomadic family doll set. Dressed in the traditional Tibetan attire called chuba and pang-den (apron), she is always busy making never-ending cups of butter-salt tea to keep them warm and hydrated. Everyone’s favourite, her glasses and salt-pepper hair make her look even more adorable. Momo-la is the Tibetan word for grandmother.
The dolls are handcrafted and showcase Tibetan culture through diverse attire and jewellery. Each piece is handmade with Himalayan sheep wool and fabric scraps. The Tibetan Nomad Doll Set is exceptionally well-made by a fair-trade enterprise based in the valley of Dharamshala, in the Northern Indian Himalayas that employs women from the local Tibetan and Indian community. Their aim is to empower the artisans by training them in new skills and creating meaningful, income-generating, and enjoyable work opportunities within a homely and supportive environment. Additionally, they focus on creating a series of high-quality dolls inspired by Tibet’s unique culture.
Please note : Due to the use of recycled fabric, there may be a variation in colour.
